Small gifts make big memories in a sponsored child’s life

A member of our India team shares the joy of seeing children receive special mementos from their sponsors

It gives me such joy and privilege to receive and review letters from sponsors in Children Believe’s India office.

In the three years I’ve been working with the organization, I’ve witnessed several big packages arrive, stuffed with accessories, stationery, clothing and more for children like Roshini. As with the other children, this seven-year-old sponsored child is so appreciative of her loving sponsors in Canada.

Roshini lost her father when she was very young, and her mom is her world. The 28-year-old works part-time in a textile mill to support her daughter. It’s a struggle, so both mother and daughter are grateful for the special gifts.

“Thank you, your support plays a vital role in our happy life,” Roshini’s mom told us recently in a video for her daughter’s sponsor. “God bless you and your family. Roshini uses your stickers when playing with her friends. We share your helpful gifts with others.”

I’m glad Roshini’s sponsor stepped in at the right moment to shower her with kindness. I’m sure the girl will carry this feeling of love and support with her always — because her sponsor made her feel special.
