We’re celebrating the power of partnerships with the launch of Creative Learning Centres in India.
The goal is to train 15,000+ people, including 5,500+ children and youth (under the age of 18), on issues such as child rights and gender equality, thereby creating more child-friendly communities.
The project is led by Children Believe, thanks to collaboration from our local partner, IRCDS coupled with support from the ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and The Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai, India.
Taiwan representatives are thrilled to be part of a social infrastructure project, which addresses education, health, technology and sustainable development, through dynamic community hubs that foster engaged, confident young citizens.
As part of the project, the children and youth will be prepared to express their ideas and opinions and participate in decisions that affect their well-being. For example, they’ll be engaged in decisions impacting their post-secondary education, marital status and safety from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
We’ll make this possible by creating child-friendly spaces and access to informal and formal child-protection resources while creating accountability among a child’s family, community, school and district, state and national government. In the end, we’re hoping to change mindsets and spur real change in communities.
We’re excited to bring together multiple learning models we’ve seen flourish in other projects. That’s all possible, thanks to our supporters.
You can help children on their journey to education, too. Sponsor a child today.
