Three words that best describe him
passionate, learner, developer
What’s his role and connection to the cause?
Abdoulaye has spent 20+ years in the development sector with the belief that nothing is more important than building a world in which all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential and grow up with good health, peace and dignity.
The long-time leader joined the Children Believe team as a sponsorship manager nearly 10 years ago, before becoming the program manager and now the associate country director. He brought valuable experience working in education, early childhood development, child protection, advocacy and networking.
In his role, Abdoulaye provides leadership to our team in Burkina Faso. He also gives oversight on program implementation and development while steering business growth.
What academic work set him up for success?
Abdoulaye is an avid learner. He earned his masters in international cooperation and humanitarian aid from the Humanitarian Studies Centre in Spain. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in American literature and civilization from the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. What’s more, he has several advanced certificates — in project management, child protection and child safeguarding, among others — from the Washington DC-based World Bank Institute.
