Derin Bello is the General Manager for Mars Food and Nutrition Canada with responsibility for TASTY BITE®, BEN’S ORIGINAL® portfolio and business operations in Canada.
Prior to this, she was Vice President of Sales at Mars Wrigley Canada with responsibility for over 200 associates across Digital, Category & Customer Marketing, Sales, Retail, Demand, Operations and Strategic Revenue Management. Prior to Mars, Derin Bello started her career as a software programmer before joining The Coca-Cola Limited (TCCC), working across two continents, West Africa and North America in multiple roles.
Her contributions to the Canadian grocery industry have been recognized through the prestigious Canadian Grocer’s Star Women in Grocery Award, celebrating her expertise, innovation, and leadership. Her experience in developing and developed markets and a career that spans multiple functions and continents have built strong understanding of marketplace dynamics and the resilience & agility required to win in a constantly changing environment.
A dedicated lifelong learner, Derin holds a Combined Honors degree in Computer Science & Mathematics from O.A.U, an MBA in Marketing & Strategy from the Schulich School of Business, and a certificate in e-Commerce and Online Business Management from the University of Toronto.
The mother of 3 enjoys travelling and spending time with her kids watching anime. In her personal time, she actively engages in community outreach and pursues her passion for music as a lead songwriter in various bands and choirs.
