Three words that best describe him
committed, results-oriented
What’s her role and connection to the cause?
Esenam is passionate about the well-being of children and women. She’s built her career championing their rights in rural Ghana through program/project design, planning, monitoring and evaluation as well as teaching the next generation part-time at the master’s level.
The Associate Director has since honed those skills at Children Believe, having joined the organization more than five years ago as a project manager and country manager of programs.
Today, Esenam provides leadership to our team in Ghana. She also gives oversight on program implementation and development while steering business growth.
What academic work set her up for success?
Esenam’s experience is backed by training around the world. She holds two master degrees — one in science in managing rural development from the SOAS University of London and the second in public health from the Royal Tropical Institute-Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
The constant learner also earned a bachelor’s degree in community nutrition from the University for Development Studies in Ghana as well as a post-graduate certificate in participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation-managing and learning for impact from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
Interesting tidbit
The phrase “Seize every opportunity you have now to impact positively on others,” inspires and motivates her to give her best each day. This is true whether she’s working in our programs, taking a road trip or gardening.
