What's his life's work?

Vafa Akhavan specializes in corporate leadership and management consulting and has executive experience in seven industries across 16 countries.

He’s the CEO of World Pediatric Project, a non-profit, which helps critically ill children. The director also served as CEO at NueBridge, a global consultancy; CEO at Forum Corporation consultancy in Boston; and VP global operations Information and Media, a segment of McGraw-Hill in New York.

Vafa is part of senior faculty at the Schulich Executive Education Center, Schulich Business School, York University. He’s also active in community programs for young people, locally and internationally.

What academic work set him up for success?

Vafa holds an honours bachelors of fine arts from Toronto’s York University and a master of business administration in global management from the University of Phoenix.

Interesting tidbit

Vafa’s undergraduate degree is in film production. In fact, he won two awards for his thesis production.
