WEB Safe and Awareness Campaign

Children Believe India and its partners are empowering children, youth, and communities through the ongoing "Web Safe and Wise" campaign. Reaching over 54,995 individuals, including 15,511 children, this initiative promotes online safety and digital literacy. Training programs teach participants about online safety, spotting fake news, and effectively using online resources. Sessions for children, youth, teachers, parents, women's self-help groups, and village committees emphasizing their role in empowering children and youth online fostering a supportive digital environment. The campaign bridges the digital divide for tribal and Dalit communities and promotes girls' digital access, emphasizing grievance redressal and stakeholder collaboration for a safer, more inclusive digital world.

Generation Global Program in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh

The Tony Blair Institute's Generation Global program empowers youth (ages 13-17) to become open-minded global citizens. In Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, it reached 1,014 learners through 14 Community Learning Centers (CLCs) and six schools, with 32 educators facilitating 37 video conferences. These sessions connected participants worldwide to discuss education, climate change, and health, fostering critical thinking and cross-cultural communication. The program will expand to 320 more children in 16 new CLCs through partnerships with SARDS and CRAF. Additionally, a youth ambassador program will provide leadership training to 22 adolescents, reinforcing the program's mission of global citizenship and responsibility.

Child-Friendly Accountability Mechanism

In 2024, the Child-Friendly Accountability Mechanism (CFAM) in India engaged 110 groups, involving 3,489 children and 450 leaders, to address child protection issues and end violence. A review and capacity-building sessions for facilitators enhanced engagement, created safe spaces for dialogue, and encouraged child participation in decision-making. This child-centered approach ensures children's voices are heard in matters affecting them. In 2025, CFAM aims to become more gender-sensitive and inclusive, recognizing diverse needs. This ongoing commitment to innovation will strengthen child protection, create safer environments, and empower children to actively shape their lives.

This partnership provided young people in our operational area with essential skills, global connections, and the opportunity to discuss pressing global issues. It promotes cross-cultural understanding, global citizenship, and empowers youth to break barriers like gender and digital divides. The successful pilot led to program expansion across schools and other Children Believe country offices, benefiting more youth and advancing our mission for positive change.

The partnership with GOORU, a technology partner, has been key in implementing 'Learning Navigator,' a solution to improve children’s learning outcomes. CB in India has strengthened this partnership through a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a formal agreement, to expand its impact in rural public schools. Collaboration with the India Education Collective (IEC) further supports effective implementation, aiming to influence Tamil Nadu's education department and break learning barriers for rural children. This revived partnership strives to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for marginalized communities in our operational area.

The collaboration with Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has been key to the success of the Youth-led Climate Action initiative. Together, we’ve established community oxygen parks, promoted climate literacy, and empowered 4,000 youth in climate leadership. This partnership also provided valuable research on tracing and incentivizing carbon credits, helping build a greener and more resilient future.

The partnership led to the adoption of the CFAM methodology and the Websafe and Wise campaign, focusing on collaboration and cross-learning. Child Fund Alliance recognized the Youth-led Climate Action initiative as a best practice in climate adaptation, enhancing our credibility and opening doors for future funding. Child Fund Australia also supported the review of the gender, intersectionality, and inclusion toolkit.

The long-standing technical partner has been a pillar of support for programs in India, particularly in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCD). In 2023, the partnership continued with support from BMRF, focusing on capacity building for both existing and new partners in ECCD. This has deepened the understanding of key ECCD areas among program staff and contributed to the development of improved implementation strategies for 2024.

Our collaboration with the university's Clinical Nutrition department has played a key role in creating scientifically-backed content to raise awareness and improve nutritional practices among women and children.
