Join a girl virtually on her long walk to school in Africa

Watch the journey to school through the eyes of one Ghanaian student

At Children Believe, we help kids overcome barriers so they can access education and live and dream fearlessly, just like Suarika in the video below. The Ghanaian is spurred onward in her journey to the classroom by our staff and donors singing a version of Canadian rock band, The Strumbellas ”One Hand Up.”

“We can hold one hand up for tomorrow. We can hold one hand up to the stars. We can be the change we want to see. Just don’t give up on me,” they sing.

As you follow Suarika, consider what the trek is like for her and many of her friends who face a long walk with rugged terrain, scorching heat and the threat of violence. It often ends learning opportunities for many.

When you sponsor a child, you provide healthcare, clean water and education so they can thrive at home and in school.

You can help. Sponsor a child today, so students like Suarika can dream big.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.

About Childfund Alliance
