MARKHAM, Ont. — The issue of racism has been brought to the fore around the world following the tragic death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, drawing attention to the need to hold strong against systemic racism.
Children Believe condemns racism in all its forms and stands against discrimination, intolerance and injustice.
Throughout our 60-year history we have worked to unite people of all races, faiths, communities and cultures. In our work across Africa, Asia and the Americas, we see how deep-rooted racism continues to affect people of all ages. We have always — as today — condemned in the strongest way all forms of racism.
We work alongside vulnerable children, youth and community members to help them stand up, overcome adversity and be a voice for change.
By speaking out against racism and promoting dialogue, we can end senseless violence and discrimination. Recent events emphasize the importance of listening to those affected, hearing their stories and committing each day to the path of equal and equitable justice.
Only together — loud, brave and united — can we change the world, and make it a kinder, more equitable place for all.
